In case you thought American Network TV couldn't possibly get any worse, news is coming in that VH1 are preparing a reality show based on the ABC monster hit, 'Ugly Betty.' The idea is to find out what would happen if unattractive women were allowed into the narcissistic snake pit that is the sad reality of the fashion and modeling industries.
Okay, I have a question; Who exactly decides who is 'unattractive'?? You can take a brick and wrap it in rich, golden paper. Or you can put a bar of solid gold in a simple paper bag. Base your judgment merely on the wrapping and you could be in for an unpleasant experience.
When an entire network is so creatively destitute, they actually think basing a reality show on a drama, that was itself based on a soap is even vaguely perceptible as a good idea, something about its collective intellectual picture is risibly and irreparably out of alignment.
This desperate attempt to fill air-time without the tiresome necessity of a nascent thought is an insult, and deserves to bury VH1 under a deluge of vitriolic complaints and entirely justified ire, focused upon them by the 98% of American womanhood blessed with too high an intellect to even consider such a shallow, egocentric occupation, and a natural, god-given allure that would doom them to endless rejections and peer-group malevolence if they could even be bothered to try.
