Today's editions of MSNBC.com carried the news that Mr. Obama was schmoozing with some of Hollywood's more notable residents last night - including Barbra - and raised [and I quote] 'an eye-popping $9-million for his Presidential campaign.'Considering the guest list for the $28,500-a-plate event included Will Ferrell, Jodie Foster, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Lee Curtis and DreamWorks founders Steven, David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg, would someone care to explain how a tally of $9m can possibly be classed as 'eye-popping'?? Many of those breaking bread with Barack demand over ten times that amount just to get out of bed. And should any three of them be sufficiently motivated to contribute 10% of the reward for their last prosaic performance, the insuperable abilities this would impart on Mr. Obama's electoral prospects would leave the GOP weeping in thwarted despair. Yet all they deliver is a meager $9m.
Not impressed.
